Top 3 Eyebrow Mistakes

I have noticed countless mistakes when it comes to eyebrow shaping. So, I decided to write the top 3 mistakes I come across when it comes to eyebrows and give you all a heads up on how to avoid them!

Mistake #1: Arch Location:

When an eyebrow’s arch is too close to the nose, the entire eyebrow looks “off”. The arch is supposed to start right under the eyebrow’s highest part (point 2 in the picture) or further down for a “fuller” look.

There should be a straight line going from lower point 1 to the highest point 2. (see picture above)

Here’s an example of an arch that starts a bit too “early” on the brow:

The effect is a very “rounded” eyebrow. Nobody wants this.

Mistake #2: Colour

Eyebrows should more or less match your hair colour. They can be a couple of shades darker or lighter, but nothing drastic or else it gives a very “rough” look:

This brings me to filling them in. When filling-in brows, use a blonde/grey eyebrow pencil and “feather” the colour through the brow. Never draw a continuous line. Shadows are better than pencils for this same reason. Even black-haired beauties should stick to blonde/lightbrown shades, they give the ilusion of a fuller brow minus the fake look. Redheads: always add a little “warmth” with red-undertoned browns. Ask your hairdresser to put a bit of the dye on your brows.

 Mistake #3: Overtweezing

Need I say more? Fuller eyebrows are in again, and they give a softer, more feminine look. Put…Down…The…Tweezers…. Step…Away…From…The.Mirror….
