How To Avoid Looking Tired?

The other day someone asked me what they could do to look less tired. It’s really funny, but a lot of times we try to find a solution to our problems when we know perfectly what the solution is already. There is one solution to looking (being) tired: resting.

(it’s called beauty sleep for a reason and it’s oh-so important)
I do understand (in fact experience myself) the lack of that commodity, but that doesn’t make it less of an optimal solution to the problem.
With that important statement out, and clarifying that sleeping is in fact the best thing you can do to look fresh and rested. I do want to share some of the secrets to look a little bit more fresh faced when we are facing sleepless phases in life.

One of my favourite remedies: Keep your eye cream in the fridge, that way when you apply it the coolness of the cream will wake your eyes righ up!
I also love what I like to call “teabag therapy”. Steep 2 teabags (I love roiboos and chamomile) cool them off, and apply them for 10 to 20 minutes.

And that brings me to coffee… I am not about to tell you not to have coffee. Oh no no, coffee is sacred for some, but I do need you all to know that coffee might pick up your soul, but it’s doing NOTHING for your skin. Caffeine is great when applied on the skin, not when taken internally (more on that another time…)
And last but not least, applying a bit of concealer in the inner corner and outer corner of the eyes will give you the equivalent of an artificial power nap. And don’t ever forget the power of a facial. Nothing makes your skin look fresher and more glowing than a facial. So go ahead, book one. You deserve it! Have a wonderful weekend and get tons of rest!
